Stardew Valley is a farming sim developed in 2016 by Eric Baron, also known as “ConcernedApe”. It was initially released for Microsoft Windows, and later made available for various platforms including macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
The game begins with the player inheriting a run-down farm from their grandfather in the peaceful Pelican Town. Players can then explore the town and surrounding areas, cultivate crops, raise animals, mine for resources, fish, forage, and interact with the diverse cast of characters who inhabit the valley.
You can work towards various goals in the game such as:
Farming:
Players can plant and harvest crops, tend to livestock, and expand and customize their farm.
Relationships:
Interacting with the townsfolk, players can develop friendships, pursue romantic relationships, and even get married.
Exploration:
The game features various locations to explore, including caves to mine for resources and fish-filled rivers and lakes.

Players can craft items such as tools, machines, and buildings to improve their farm and abilities.
Quests and Activities:
There are numerous quests and activities to undertake, including completing tasks for villagers, participating in festivals, and exploring the mysteries of the valley.

The game has four seasons, each with its own unique crops and weather patterns, affecting gameplay and strategy.

Not only is the game fun to play as is, but if played on a PC, the options are endless for modded gameplay. New mods come out every day, varying from new clothes, shaders, and even new characters and storylines!! This is one of the main reasons I adore this game, as it allows the player to truly get creative with their farm layouts and envision the game with their creative perspective.
